A
Hot Fix and a Little Humor
As you may have read in a previous ACT! Tip of the Week, The
most recent build of ACT! (5.0.4.495) has had problems with
e-mail and attachments. This only effects folks who, like
I do, use ACT!'s Internet Mail e-mail client. A Hotfix is
now being provided specifically for the 5.0.4.495 build. It
corrects the issue that causes some e-mail messages to appear
blank and some attachments not to appear. If you use ACT!'s
Internet Mail e-mail client, like I do, and after using the
"Live Update" function found yourself in this situation,
like I did, this Hot Fix will correct the problem. And my
experience over the last 30 days is that it works pretty well.
To
determine if you have the 5.0.4.495 build of ACT!, open ACT!
and choose About ACT! from the Help menu. Your build version
will appear in the upper right. If you have a previous build
you do not have to do anything. Unless you are running Windows
XP, in which case you will have to Update. Use this link to
go to the download page for the Hot Fix.

More
details on using this Hotfix can be found in the readme.txt
file included with the download, as well as in the ACT! online
Knowledge Base article which can be found using this link.

Quoting
Monty Python, "And now for something completely different:"
Young
Judy was having trouble with her computer, so she called Tony,
the computer guy, over to her desk. Tony clicked a couple
buttons and solved the problem. As he was walking away, Judy
called after him, "So, what was wrong?"
He
replied, "It was an ID Ten T Error."
A
puzzled expression came over Judy's face. "An ID Ten
T Error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again."
Tony
gave her a grin. "Haven't you ever heard of an ID Ten
T Error before?"
"No,"
replied Judy.
"Write
it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it
out."
She
wrote... I D 1 0 T.
